Press Release:

H&H FOODS TAKES ACTION TO REORGANIZE

Mercedes Texas– December 31, 2007 H&H Foods, once South Texas’ largest meat processing plant and distribution center, announced today that it has filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The company expects to file its Plan of Reorganization and emerge stronger than ever.
H&H Foods has followed the family tradition of providing quality meat products and professional service for over 60 years.  Owned by the Hinojosa family since 1947, it has operated successfully and continuously as a meat packing plant and a value-added food processing operation. The bankruptcy filing will allow the company to continue fulfilling commitments to a wide variety of valued customers.
“We want to assure our customers and our employees that H&H is committed to providing quality products and professional service,” Liborio Hinojosa, CEO stated.  He added, “Our customers can continue to rely on H&H food products.”
The reorganization plan will help strengthen H&H’s ability to provide quality products and enable them to remain in operation while the Hinojosa family satisfies its obligations to suppliers and creditors and continues efforts to restructure its debt along with the implementation of new internal cost cutting procedures.
